Long chin breaks the whole balance of the face, gives strong impression and makes you look older. Long chin has two types. One is when the mandibular bone is developed excessively so that lantern jaw and malocclusion are accompanied at the same time. Second one is when only the chin is excessively developed.

Long Chin Correction

When the protruding jaw is accompanied with malocclusion, long chin correction will be ran in parallel with jaw bone surgery. Also, when only the edge of the chin is long, you can see a great effect only with the chin reduction surgery. We cut the chin bone vertically through the incision of inside the mouth with careful planning of the incision location, range, and the amount through x-ray before the surgery. Through the incision we design the amount of the bone that is already planned before the surgery. And then we fix the remaining bones together with the use of titanium plate. When the chin is excessively weak, bone transplant might be necessary. Osteotomy shows permanent effect just as implants, and will take approximately 40minutes. It is possible to go back to the daily lives right after the surgery.
