Types of incision parts for Breast augmentation surgery

Transaxillary Incision

This is the most generally used and preferred incision method in our
country and other cultures because it can cover the scar most well.
Without damaging lobule-alveolar-system, there is less possibility of
infection, and maintain sensory organ very well with short time surgery
and fast recovery.
The shortcoming is that it is difficult to secure a clear view when
having surgery, so it can increase the possibility of globular shape construction due to lack of enough space secured or outbreak of hematoma after surgery. This happens when there weren’t enough space desquamation under the muscle and proper hemostasis during the surgery, because it was difficult to go through the surgery with doctor’s own eyes.

Endoscopic Assisted Transaxillary Incision

It is a method of having surgery by looking into an endoscopic through
the incision of armpit during the surgery.
Because it is a surgery done with the doctor’s own eyes, there will be
no damage of main blood vessels or nerves, and controls hemorrhage
perfectly that there will be less bleeding and pain after the surgery, and
can lessen the possibility of causing complications such as globular shape
construction.

Periareolar Incision

This is a method of cutting 2~3cm of the areola boundary.
Compared with the armpit incision, it is possible to have surgery with
doctor’s own eyes and there is less pain because route of inserting
implants is short.
This is an effective method when revision surgery or flat breast
augmentation or mastoptosis breasts surgery are done in parallel.
However, the shortcoming is that it may damage some parts of lobule-alveolar-system which leads to high possibility of infection. Also, sense of nipple can decrease, and scar may appear to be conspicuous according to each person. Moreover, this will be very difficult for those who have small areola.

Inframammary Incision

It is less used because scar is conspicuous compared to other incision
methods.
However, anatomically, the approach route toward muscles is the
shortest so surgery does not take long, and there will be no damage
to lobule-alveolar-system, and pretty breast line will be created.
This method can be chosen when both armpit incision method and
areola incision method are difficult to be applied.

Navel Incision

This is widely used method in the past when physiological saline
implants were widely used. Above all, the biggest advantage of this
method is that this does not remain any kind of scar around breasts.
Because it is very difficult for cohesive gel to put the contents in and
out compared to physiological saline implants due to its big size, it is
impossible to have surgery with this method. This method is barely used
these days.
